Data & Backup
Customers are responsible for maintaining a current backup of their data before equipment is submitted for service or repair. Hardware faults, diagnostics and repair work can result in data loss or corruption.

Where requested, Lineal Software Solutions Ltd. (“Lineal”) can attempt to create a backup of recoverable data before work is carried out. Additional charges and repair time may apply. Lineal cannot guarantee that data can be successfully backed up or recovered, particularly where equipment or storage media is already faulty, damaged, encrypted or inaccessible.

Where a backup has not been requested, I authorise Lineal to proceed with the requested work and acknowledge the risk of data loss.

Authorisation & Access
I authorise Lineal to inspect, diagnose, disassemble and test the equipment as reasonably necessary to investigate and complete the requested work.

Where login credentials, encryption keys or other access information are supplied, I authorise Lineal to access the device only as reasonably necessary for diagnosis, backup, repair and testing. Lineal will not intentionally access personal files or information unless required to complete the authorised work.

Condition of Equipment
I confirm that I have accurately declared the equipment and accessories supplied to Lineal. I understand that Lineal may photograph and record the condition of equipment before, during and after repair for diagnostic, quality-control and record-keeping purposes.

Lineal will take reasonable care of equipment while it is in its possession. Existing damage, wear, underlying faults and defects that could not reasonably have been identified before diagnosis or disassembly are not considered to have been caused by Lineal.

Charges & Approval
Unless covered by an applicable service agreement or otherwise quoted, Lineal’s labour rate is £65 per hour + VAT. Parts and other chargeable items are additional and may require payment in advance.

Where a quotation or estimate is provided, Lineal will obtain approval before carrying out work materially beyond the agreed scope or cost. Additional faults discovered during diagnosis or repair may require a revised quotation and may affect the expected completion time.

Repairs & Warranty
Any warranty applicable to a repair will be stated on the quotation, repair report or invoice and applies to the specific parts and/or workmanship identified.

Repair warranties do not cover unrelated or subsequent faults, accidental or liquid damage, misuse, further damage, or subsequent repair or modification by a third party, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

If a customer believes a repaired fault has returned during the applicable warranty period, the equipment should be returned to Lineal for assessment.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any statutory rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Customer Data & Privacy
Lineal may process customer contact information, device information, serial numbers, repair records, photographs and other information reasonably necessary to administer the enquiry, diagnosis, repair, billing, warranty and associated customer service.

Where Lineal creates a temporary copy of customer data specifically for a repair, backup or recovery service, that data will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the agreed service and will then be securely deleted in accordance with Lineal’s data-retention procedures, unless otherwise agreed.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with Lineal’s Privacy Policy:
